What to expect as a Raskel's Rescue volunteer.

What to expect as a Raskel's Rescue volunteer.

Most shifts run two to three hours. Stay longer if you want, but you don't have to. Some days you'll spend the whole shift walking dogs and refilling water bowls. Other days you might help set up for an adoption event, fold laundry, or sit on the floor with a cat who's still learning that humans are okay.

You don't need experience with animals. You don't need to be physically strong. You don't even need to know what you're doing. You just need to follow direction, ask questions when you have them, and be patient with animals still learning to trust people. We'll teach you the rest.

By the end of your first shift, you'll know whether this is for you. Most people leave already planning their next visit.

Animal Care

Walk dogs, socialize cats, and give the animals daily companionship and enrichment. The animals feel the difference — and so will you.

Event Support

Help out at adoption drives, community fairs, and fundraisers. We always need friendly faces.

Photography

Capture the personalities of our animals on camera. Good eye and a phone? We can use you.

Transportation

Coordinate or drive animals between facilities and adoption events. Your car can literally save a life.

Facility Maintenance

Help keep the kennel clean, functional, and welcoming. Hands-on work that keeps things running.

Administrative Support

Help with outreach, volunteer coordination, and communications. Behind-the-scenes work that multiplies our impact.

We're based in Hardeeville, and our reach covers the whole Lowcountry. We partner with veterinarians, foster families, and adopters across Jasper County, Beaufort County, and the greater Savannah, GA area. Our volunteers come from Hardeeville, Bluffton, Hilton Head, Ridgeland, Beaufort, Port Royal, and Savannah — and the animals in our care end up in homes throughout the Southeast and beyond.
