Adoption Event
Paws and Pints
Paws & Pints is back — and if you're looking for a reason to spend a great afternoon in Bluffton this spring, this is it. Cold drinks, food trucks, local vendors, adoptable rescue dogs, and raffles, all at Side Hustle Brewing, all benefiting the animals of Raskel's Rescue. Come for whatever sounds best to you. Stay because it's worth it.
What Paws & Pints Is
Paws & Pints is Raskel's Rescue's signature community event — an afternoon at Side Hustle Brewing in Bluffton that brings together craft beer, food trucks, local vendors, adoptable animals, raffles with prizes, and the kind of crowd that shows up because they genuinely care about what's happening in their community. It's free to attend. There's no cover and no ticket required to walk through the door. The only things that cost money are the beer, the food, the raffle tickets, and whatever catches your eye at the vendor booths — all of which directly support the rescue.
The event draws a real cross-section of the Lowcountry: longtime supporters of Raskel's Rescue, people who are considering adopting for the first time, families looking for something to do on a weekend afternoon, and regulars at Side Hustle who show up for the beer and leave with a dog on their mind. If you've been on the fence about adopting, this is the event that tends to get people off it. There is something about meeting a dog in person — outside of a kennel, in a relaxed outdoor setting — that changes the conversation.
The Adoptable Dogs
Raskel's Rescue will have adoptable dogs on site throughout the event. Every animal that attends has been assessed for temperament, is current on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and microchipped. Staff will be there to make introductions, answer questions honestly, and help you think through whether a particular dog is a good fit for your household — not just whether they're a good dog, but whether the match is right. Come with questions. Come open to being surprised. There is a real possibility that your dog is there waiting for you.
If you're not ready to adopt but want to learn more about the adoption process, the event is a great opportunity to talk to staff informally and get a sense of how Raskel's Rescue operates. No pressure, no paperwork required to have the conversation.
Where Every Dollar Goes
Every pint poured at Side Hustle Brewing during the event, every raffle ticket sold, and every vendor participating contributes to the operations of Raskel's Rescue — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue based in Hardeeville, SC that holds the official government contract with the City of Hardeeville for animal control services. In 2024, Raskel's took in 451 animals, placed 438 in forever homes, and euthanized zero. That record doesn't happen without funding, and events like Paws & Pints are a meaningful part of how the rescue sustains that work.
The money raised covers real costs: veterinary care, food, behavioral rehabilitation, shelter operations, and the staff and volunteers who show up every day. You don't have to adopt to make a difference here. Showing up, buying a beer, grabbing a raffle ticket — it all counts.
"Every pint and every raffle ticket helps support the animals of Raskel's Rescue. Spending the afternoon has never done this much good."
